Converters

Electricity in Thailand is 220 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second. If you travel to Thailand with a device that does not accept 220 Volts at 50 Hertz, you will need a voltage converter. Most laptops and camera battery chargers will accept these ratings, but be sure to check. If you need to purchase a converter, be careful to ensure that it works for the type of appliance you wish to use as there are different types for different appliances.

Plug Adapters and Outlet Shapes

Outlets in Thailand generally accept 2 types of plug. If your appliance plug has a different shape, you may need a plug adapter.
